What’s the Alternative?
Positive effects of homeopathy

For conditions that are difficult to treat with conventional medicine, homeopathy could be the answer.

A new study by Dorset GP, Dr. Tim Robinson, revealed that a wide range of conditions
incloding ear infections, sore throats, sinusitis, eczema and hormonal problems could be successfully treated homeopathically in a standard ten-minute GP consaltation.

Over 12 months, Dr. Robinson offered his patients homeopathy as an alternative to conventional treatment - or when they couldn’t take medication, or it had nothing to offer, Seventy-eight per cent of patients who opted to try homeopathy reported that their symptoms had improved.

“For conditions such as leg cramps, chilblains and shock, where there’s no real conventional treatment, or when a patient can’t take drugs because they’re pregnant, or have some other medical condition, it was really nice to be able to offer them an effective alternative.” explains Dr. Robinson.

Critics of homeopathy claim that one explanation for its apparent success is that patients feel better because they’ve had longer to talk about their condition, But this study seems to disprove the theory as the consultations were all carried out in the usual ten-minute GP appointment slot.

There are five NHS homeopathy hospitals across the country, but you have to be referred by your GP. Alternatively, to find a qualified homeopathy near you, call the British Homeopathic Association on 0870 444 3950.
